JEFF PERRINE

HEAD COACH

My coaching career started 22 (1995) years ago with Marysville Little League. Coaching both fastpitch softball and baseball for my daughters and sons teams for 3 years before staying strictly with Softball. Coaching young ladies is very enjoyable as their dedication to detail is like no other. Their bond on and off the field is awesome to be a part of. In 2001 I started coaching with the Marysville High School JV team and in 2002 with the SnoCo Express Select organization. There is nothing I would change over the past 22 years and have kept in contact with numerous players. It feels great to hear them talk about their playing days, how much fun it was and how they have been able to apply some of what they learned in their adult lives. Coaching the game is only part of it, teaching life lessons through the game of fastpitch softball is just as important as the x’s and o’s on the field.

MIKE PERRINE

ASSISTANT COACH

I started coaching my little sister Riley 6 years ago and have not looked back. I’ve coached in little league, select (Snohomish county express), and have even helped out with MP high school. My coaching years are somewhat low but growing up in a baseball/softball family I believe to have a good amount of knowledge that I love sharing with my players. I have found a true passion in working with young athletes on developing their skills of the game but more so in the mental part of being an athlete. I like to try and bring a fun and positive dynamic to our coaching staff and get our players to not only see their top potential but also to push THEM  to WANT to achieve it. I still learn something new every practice in a game that seems like it is always evolving. Every year at the end of the season I find myself saying, “that was the best year to date.” Super excited for the future in my coaching career but more so for my players and their sports journeys.

COURTNEY KNUTH

ASSISTANT COACH

It seems like yesterday; days consisting of school, softball, weekend tournaments, and homework of course! I have been playing the game since I was 5, who knew it would lead me to love the game: the discipline and hard work to hold myself accountable, the team ethics of being able to chant my teammates name when they jacked a homer, teamwork, & sportsmanship... losing is hard, but holding our heads high waiting to play that team again, to hopefully a different outcome.

I’ve played for Snohomish County Express Organization from U12-U18, 4 years of Varsity softball at MPHS, and 1.5 years at Everett Community College; receiving M.V.P. my freshman year. I played catcher most of my playing years, but if I wasn’t catching I was in center field. I currently play on a couple CO-ED teams to make sure I don’t ‘lose it’.

After starting my career, I missed the days of being on the field and knew I wanted to be a coach. I jumped in head first and starting assistant coaching at M.P.H.S in 2011. Then added Sno. Co. Express in 2012. I love being able to pass my knowledge down to these young athletes. The best part about coaching is all the hard work, dedication, and drills these players put in on the off season. Until we play that first game of the season, you can really see everything come around full circle, which makes everything worth it!

I’ll never forget that quote my middle school coach, KT Allen, told me while I would struggle on the field, and now try to instill in my teams: Softball is 90% mental and 10% physical.
